After law school I was a Hamilton County Public Defender for about 3 years. In 1992, I became a Magistrate (we were called “referees” back then) in the Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations. I will retire from that position on November 1, 2019!!!!!!

Life is good and I am truly blessed. I am happy, my family and I are healthy, I have 6 wonderful children and 6 wonderful grandchildren and honestly, I could not ask the Lord for anything more.
My husband, Mike, and I and our twins, Mary and Michael, currently live on approximately 23 acres in Elberfeld, Indiana which is located about 20 miles northeast of Evansville, Indiana. We live on a 40 acre lake which is an old stripper pit. In our free time we enjoy the outdoors and working on the property with all of our toys–like my new John Deere tractor I purchased for my 55th birthday.

After my summer internship at Christian Dior in New York convinced me that a) the fashion industry was snarky and b) I didn’t want to pay $1,200 or above to share a room in NYC, I wound up practicing law and hating it. That led me to a 13 year stint in the non-profit world doing everything from expanding Boys Hope Cincinnati to include a home for girls to fund raising on the university level.
My next career progression led me to LexisNexis but in typical Leslie fashion not up the road to Dayton, but rather to Charlottesville, Virginia.

I continue to practice law as a Member at the firm that I started at in 1989 – Frost Brown Todd (formerly Frost & Jacobs). My practice has focused on environmental law from the beginning of my career, an area that I enjoy due to the mix of technical, legal, risk and policy considerations. My environmental practice is a mix of litigation/enforcement defense, transactional (real estate and corporate M&A), and counseling and auditing.
